Send a text to 087 7761882 if you want more information.
Bingo on May 30th will be in aid of Pieta House. This is an opportunity for people who could not participate in the Darkness into Light event on May 12th to support the charity which seeks to prevent sucide and self harm in our communities. The 1st prize in the raffle is a 32inch flat screen TV. There will be other valuable prizes. overall on there will be €1,750 in cash prizes and ther is the possibility of one person winning €10,000 in the Jackpot.
Over the past five years organisations such as Scoil na Maighdine Mhuire, Newmarket-on-Fergus GAA, Newmarket-on-Fergus Handball Club, Slainte an Chlair Cancer Support, The Pakie Ryan Memorial Run/Cycle, St Caimins Community School and Pieta House have raised much needed funds under the umbrella of the weekly Bingo at Newmarket-on-Fergus Community Hall.
The Bingo takes place every Wednesday night (all year round) from 8.30pm to 10.30pm (Doors open at 7.30pm). Currently the Jackpot is €10,000 and there is over €1,500 in other prizes. Double books cost €12, Single books cost €10. The Jackpot sheets are €3 each or two for €5.00. There are 14 games, 4 with a price fund of €90, 9 with a prize fund of €130. The Jackpot pays out €30 for a line, €10,000 if the panel check is in 46 numbers and €150 if the Jackpot is not won.
All of this means that for a modest sum of €13 patrons can have a very entertaining and sociable night with a chance of winning some serious money.
For an organisation wishing to raise funds the following are the options.
Option 1: Raffle:
The Organisation puts up the raffle prize (a flat screen TV as 1st prize is always appreciated by the Bingo punters) and approx. 6 other prizes. The Organisation does publicity through Facebook and txt messages to announce that they are benefitting from the bingo to encourage people to go to bingo on the night. On the night the organisation sells raffle tickets (4 strips for €2, 10 strips for €5.00). The Community Centre sponsor the organisation €110 as well as the net revenue from all the games apart from the Jackpot. The Community Centre keeps the sales of the Jackpot game and pays the prizes for the Jackpot game (including the €10,000 if it is won). An organisation can expect to make between €800 and €1,200 on a Raffle night.
Option 2: Raffle and Tickets:
In addition to organising the Raffle the Organisation prints tickets for the night and sell them to people who want to support the organisation for €10. It’s best to sell these tickets to people who do not normally go to Bingo in Newmarket-on-Fergus because the regular attendees will be there anyway and you are not really raising any extra money by selling to them. The purchaser of the ticket can use it to get a bingo book on the night. The Organisation can opt to advertise the Bingo night on the Community Notice Board on Clare FM for €100 for 5 days. Everything else is the same as Option 1. An organisation can expect to make between €2,000 and €2,500 on a Raffle and Ticket night depending on how many tickets it sells.
Option 3: Raffle, Tickets and Sponsorship:
In addition to organising the raffle and the tickets the organisation tries to get sponsorship for the prize fund for the Bingo games. In this case we increase the price fund to €150 for all games apart from the Jackpot Game. The Jackpot game is sponsored by the Community Centre and the prize is €40 for a line and €200 for the panel if the Jackpot is not won. The Organisation looks for 13 sponsors of €150 or 26 sponsors of €75. All sponsors are publically acknowledged on the night. This is not easy but getting sponsorship as well as a strong ticket sales drive can yield €3,000 plus on the night.
If your organisation is interested in any of the above options or any other suggestion you may have its best to call into Bingo some night between 7.30 pm and 8.30 pm so we can discuss a prospective date with you. Alternatively call Tel: +35387 776 1882 and we will get back to you.
Arising from recent publicity regarding the amount of funding returning to County Clare from the widely supported Daffodil Day fundraising the Community Centre is
supporting Slainte an Chlair Cancer Care .
The proceeds of bingo book and sheet sales plus the raffle less the prize fund goes to Slainte an Chlair.
The Community Centre keep the proceeds of the Jackpot game and will pay out the JAckpot (Currently €10,000) if it is won. €180 will be paid out if the jackpot is not won.
This will be a very enjoyable night for all and its an opportunity to support a Charity which provides excellent suport for Cancer patients. see http://www.clarecancersupport.com/
